House removals in Fulham
Whole households across SW6 — Victorian and Edwardian terraces on the Peterborough and Munster grids, and the family houses between them.
Fulham is largely terraced and largely Victorian, laid out in grids that look uniform from the street and vary considerably inside. What they have in common is height: four floors is normal here, and a lower ground is more often present than not.
What is included
- A free survey before anything is priced — video for newer stock, in person for the terraces
- Floor and frame protection through the whole route, not just the front door
- Wrapping for upholstery, mattresses and polished surfaces
- Dismantle and rebuild of beds, wardrobes and tables that will pass a door
- Room-labelled unloading
- Materials taken away when we leave
The lower ground floor
Worth its own section because it is the most underestimated part of a Fulham move. A lower ground adds a floor, a narrow stair with a turn, and almost always more storage than the owner remembers — plus, on some streets, a vault under the pavement.
None of that shows on a bedroom count, which is why we survey rather than estimate and why the number holds on the day.
Period fabric
Much of SW6 is conservation area. Original boards scuff, lime plaster marks under a knock painted plaster would shrug off, and period joinery does not forgive a corner taken at speed. Boards and padding go down before the first item moves, and the route through the house is agreed rather than improvised.
The street
Permit-controlled throughout, narrow once parked both sides, and almost no off-street standing. We check your bays at survey, advise on a suspension where one is worth applying for, and shuttle from the nearest legal point where the vehicle cannot get close.
Getting a quote
Both addresses, a sense of the volume including the lower ground and loft, and your date. Larger and riverside property is on large and riverside homes, flats on flats and conversions, and smaller loads on man and van.
House move questions
What is included?
The vehicle and crew, blankets and covers, floor and frame protection, and taking apart and rebuilding what will not pass a door in one piece. On period property, add the boards the building needs.
Why is the lower ground floor such a factor?
Because it adds a whole floor, a narrow stair and more storage than anyone admits to. It is the single most underestimated part of a Fulham move and it never shows on a bedroom count.
Are the terraces slow?
Slower than their room count implies. Narrow hallways, a stair that turns at the return, original boards and a front door onto a permit pavement.
What gets forgotten?
The lower ground, the loft, the vault under the pavement where there is one, and the garden store. All of it slow, all of it coming.
Can the move span two days?
On the larger houses with tight completion times, frequently it is the sensible answer. We say so at survey rather than promising one heroic day.
